Links We Like: Underthings for Skirts

Ladies transitioning from wearing jeans to wearing skirts, and even those who've been wearing skirts for a long time, often struggle with how to be comfortable and modest and gorgeous as well. Does this sound like you?

I've read lots of blog comments on this topic lately, so I know it's a common issue. I'm dreaming up something for BNTV. In the meantime, I recommend a post called "Underthings". It was written by Amy of "Raising Arrows" in the series "She Wears Skirts".

May all your clothing problems have answers, and may you acquire them speedily!

New Shops on Modest Stores List

If you're a new subscriber, please consider this a personal welcome. =) I hope Boutique Narelle helps you find many solutions to your needs.

If you've been supposing Narelle has been sucked into extra-cyber obscurity, I assure you I'm still in orbit. This post is to let you know I've been periodically updating Boutique Narelle's recommended modest stores list (plus a few items down the sidebar and miscellaneous post upgrades).

I'm excited about The Modest Mom in the USA, where you'll find a range of charming skirts, tops, and underlayers for women and girls, and practical yet feminine maternity and nursing options.

The Modest Mom is a MODESTY SPECIALIST. I long for the day we have more of these businesses in Australasia. I've added the above label to the modest stores list to help you quickly find the shops that make a point of offering peace of mind and a happy wardrobe to modest ladies.

Here are samples from The Modest Mom. Enjoy!

New Shopping Options Downunder

Ladies downunder, let me introduce you to The Iconic, an online store collating 500 Australian designer brands under one cyber-roof at a range of prices. You'll have to wade through a mountain of immodest garments in order to get to the modest ones, but the sale prices may make it worth it, especially when you can do it from home AND they offer free shipping to you, and free shipping of returns within 100 days if you're not happy with your purchase! Yes, that's to New Zealand as well. =)

Fresh Styles is a new Australian enterprise specializing in hats and short-sleeved, knee-length dresses. They also stock a few tops and knee-length skirts. I love the feminine styling of the tops and dress bodices, but would need a camisole or dicky with some, and would have to find trews to go with most of the dresses.

I'm disappointed in Fresh Styles' tiny illustrations. I do not enjoy peering, but that did not satisfy, nor did enlarging my screen view. The best online stores know shoppers need to see the details, and this is even more important when a lady wants to dress modestly.

Another Australian shopping destination is Rodney Clark, the preferred online stockist of Gordon Smith and Hammock and Vines. I liked some of the options I saw today, especially a lined cotton skirt originally priced A$150 marked down to A$25.
